Title: Modeling, Provisioning, and Testing of IoT/Cloud-based Cyber Physical System under Uncertainty

Abstract:
The engineering process of IoT/Cloud platforms is a challenging and multidisciplinary activity. 
Adopted and deployed as part of various crucial cyber physical systems, such as smart factories (Industry 4.0), smart cities and healthcare, IoT cloud platforms consist of a mix of cloud services and IoT elements, e.g., for sensor management, near-realtime event handling, and data analytics. 
Engineers need methodologies and tools for design, deployment, control, governance and analytics to test and evaluate designs of system components and optimize the operation of different design configurations. 
In this talk, we show a model-driven engineering (MDE) approach where the abstraction power of models is applied to tackle the complexity of systems as part of the ongoing work at EU-funded project U-Test. In particular, the talk will focus on supporting design, provisioning and testing of IoT/Cloud infrastructures of CPS under uncertainty. 

Short CV:
Luca Berardinelli is a postdoctoral researcher at the Distributed Systems Group (DSG),Technische Universität Wien. He received his Ms and PhD degrees in Computer Science from the University of L’Aquila, Italy. He has been a postdoc at the Univ. of L’Aquila (Quality of Services, Model-Driven Engineering). Since 09/2012 he is working at the Technische Universität Wien (TU Wien). He worked on MDE applied to cyber-physical production systems (Industrie 4.0). From 01/2017 he is working on modeling and testing of uncertainty of cyber-physical systems (www.u-test.eu project).
