How to reach L'Aquila

By Car, from Rome and Naples

For those who come from Naples: take the motorway A1 directed to Rome. Arrived in Rome, from the Grande Raccordo Anulare (G.R.A., the ring which sorrounds the capital), take the motorway A24 Roma-L'Aquila-Teramo (gate 14). L'Aquila is 90 km far from Rome and it can be easily reached in less than one hour.

By Car, from Milan and Bologne

For those who come from Milan: take the motorway A1 to Bologne, than take the railway A14 (Adriatique) Bologna-Bari directed to Bari and leave it at the gate Val Vibrata. From here reach the entry to the motorway A24, near Teramo, and follow the signs to L'Aquila.

By Car, from Bari

For those who come from Bari: take the motorway A14 (Adriatica) Bologna-Bari directed to Bologne and leave it at the gate Val Vibrata. From here reach the entry to the motorway A24, near Teramo, and follow the signs to L'Aquila.

By Plane

The nearest airports to L'Aquila are those in Pescara and Rome, where the main world air companies land. For further information please have a look at the respective websites.

By Bus

L'Aquila is very good connected by daily runs to the main cities of the region and some of the most important of Italy. The regional company is ARPA and connects L'Aquila to Teramo, Chieti, Pescara and Rome. For information about the timetables and the destinations, please look up in the Arpa On Line website.

By Train

L'Aquila can be reached by train only from Terni and Sulmona through the railway Terni-L'Aquila-Sulmona. The service is not very efficient, so we advise to choose the bus lines. For further information consult the Trenitalia website.

How to reach the DISIM

The DISIM administration and the main department buildings are in Via Vetoio, Coppito.
