Course Objectives
Besides presenting the grammar structures at a B1 level, students will be introduced to the IT specific language.
Course Content
- Lexical contents: readings, listenings and videos with oral and written practice on the following topics:
A. Information Technology and its specialized lexicon: 1. Computers today, 2. What is a computer, 3. Interacting with your computer, 3. How screen displays work, 5. Storage devices, 6. The Java language/Jobs in ICT, 7. Information and Communication systems (ICT)/Future trends.
B. UK life and culture: 1. An introduction to Britain, 2. Language and new words, 3. Schools, 4. University education, 5. Work, 6. Media, 7. Leisure.
- Grammar contents: Simple Present / Present Continuous, Present Perfect / Simple Past, Phrasal verbs, Future: will/shall forms, Present Continuous, to be going to, Simple Present, Modals, Comparatives and superlatives, Relative pronouns, Conditional sentences: 0 type, 1st type and 2nd type, Present Perfect Continuous/Past Continuous, Passive forms.

A2 level (elementary)
Assessment Methods and Criteria
Written test in two parts, on grammar and on IT specific language, including a listening exercise plus reading and writing activities, without dictionary; oral test related to everyday life topics.
