The Department of Information Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics at Università degli Studi dell'Aquila fully and actively contributes to the achievement of the internationalization goals of the University. The peculiarity of its teaching and research activities spanning from pure Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Sciences to the most innovative applications in the fields of ICT and Automata provides the Department with the best and challenging environment for the international cooperation. Research with teams from groups internationally recognized, mobility of teachers and talented students, cooperation activities, pioneering joint/multiple degrees and EM master course, made our Department a fundamental actor in the processes for the constitution of EHEA and ERA, anticipating the reform of Italian university system by means innovative actions enabling students and staff to cope with the challenges and compete in a globalised environment.
The Department contributes to the three main components of university international strategy:
That is development of intercultural understanding through international degrees, language competencies enhancement, courses offered in English, implementation of projects within TEMPUS and ERASMUS MUNDUS, involvement of "visiting professors" in the framework of taught modules
2. Internationalisation of education abroad
That is promotion and support to mobility by organising multiple/joint curricula and international short courses and placements (LLP-IP, summer courses, stage), optimising the Erasmus and other bilateral agreements for a better structured mobility between EU and non-EU institutions as result of the international cooperation projects successfully implemented
That is promotion and support of activities for the internationalization of third cycle by increasing the programs in co-tutelle, preparation of projects within international, EU and national cooperation programmes for education and research (FP7, National research Programme, bilateral research cooperation, etc.).
