Fortunato Santucci received the laurea degree and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Eng. from the University of L’Aquila, Italy. Since 1994 he has been with the University of L’Aquila, where he currently holds the position of Professor of Telecommunications. He has been a visiting researcher in several universities.

His research activity is focused on Internet-of-Things, vehicular communication networks, network security and advanced signal processing for satellite transponders and 5G infrastructures. He has co-authored more than 250 papers in international journals or conference proceedings.

He has served as an Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Communications and other journals. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE. He is director of the Centre of Excellence Ex-EMERGE at the University of L’Aquila, is in the board of the Radiolabs consortium, and in the General Assembly of CNIT. He is a co-founder of WEST Aquila srl.
