Research Interests

My general research areas are:

  • Software Engineering, with specific interests on extra functional properties and adaptation. In practice, I am currently researching into the following topics:
    • Software modeling;
    • Software Performance Analysis;
    • Performance Antipatterns;
    • (Performance) model-based run-time reconfiguration;
    • Non-Functional Analysis of Context-aware systems;
    • Bio-inspired paradigms for self-adaptive systems;
    • Guided generation of Data Science workflow that satisfy Quality requirements (such as debais, fairness and explainability)
  • Data Science with specific interest on:
    • Quality in Data Science and Machine Learning pipeline (such as debais, fairness and explainability)
    • Data science applied to reduce risks for citizens due to natural disaster (e.g., evacuation planning and safe place identification), to manage emergency (e.g., citizen evacuation) and post-disaster process (city reconstruction)
    • Bioinformatics: to deep understand biological processes in case of cancer deseases; to identify risky indicators for humans' health: personalized medicine (from diagnosis to treatment.

Research Groups

I am a member of the Software Engineering and Architecture Laboratory at University of L'Aquila and I belong to the following research groups:

  • Quality of Service Group;
  • Bio-inspired Software Engineering Group;
  • Bio-Informatics Group;

I am also a collaborator of the SENSO LAB at the Middlesex University, London, U.K.

I am a member of the following CINI Laboratories and working group:
