The German Library in Rome, Biblioteca Hertziana, funded by the Max-Plank-Institut Fur Kunstgeschichte, is searching for a full stack software engineer to supporto digital library projects:

Experience

• Sc. or PhD in Computer Science or related disciplines
• Experience with applying information technologies to Digital Humanities is a plus

Skills

Essential

• PHP
• Client-side JavaScript development
• Common data exchange formats (JSON, XML) and transformations (XSLT)
• Ability to query HTTP-based APIs regardless of the programming language
• Ability to quickly learn new standards based on the above knowledge
• Inclination toward team work and continuous reporting/issue tracking/development documentation

Desirable

• PHP for plugin development (preferably OJS, but knowledge of content management systems like Drupal or WordPress is also appreciated)
• Knowledge of Linked Data standards (RDF, SPARQL, JSON-LD, ontologies)

Languages

English. German and/or Italian are desirable.
